Don’t Pay Two Santa Clarita Divorce Court Filing Fees

I have phrased this information so many different ways.  “How to save $435 on court filing fees”, “How to waste $435 in divorce court filing fees”, “Don’t file an uncontested Santa Clarita divorce case.

The point I am trying to get across is to help people understand that there are 2 court fees.  Once when you file the divorce petition and the other when you file the divorce response.  Watch this video or listen to the podcast where I explain how to save money on your Santa Clarita Divorce court filing fees.

Santa Clarita Divorce Season Has Begun

Every year in January is considered “divorce season”. All the folks who held off from filing during the holidays creates a huge bubble of divorce cases come January.  In Santa Clarita, this starts right when the kids go back to school.  So for my kids that go to Valencia High School, that is today.  I don’t know if all the Santa Clarita School Districts are on the same schedule, but we are already experiencing more calls as a result of school being back in and the holidays being over.

I explain more in this video and podcast.

Santa Clarita Divorce : Beware Online Divorce Services

If you go online to find a place to help you file for divorce, you will no doubt come across hundreds of “online divorce services”.  I want to warn you of what you are getting yourself into with these companies.  First, all you get is a bunch of paperwork mailed to you and you have to do all the work.  Most of the time, the paperwork they use is outdated.

I have had to many people come to me after wasting their money on these online divorce services that I make every effort to warn people of what they are about.

I explain more in this video and podcast.

Working Remotely, Working LAPD, And Ramping Up For Divorce Season

You may not know it, but I spent 15 years working for the Los Angeles Police Department. If you are ever in my office, you will see all my LAPD mugs, pictures and other cool stuff.

Working LAPD came with some interesting assignments, many of which are not very exciting.  For instance, working surveillance.  I spent many hours in a back of a van or unmarked undercover police care waiting for Mr. or Ms. Bad Guy.

I also had to write lots of police reports from the vehicle as well.  Fortunately, I was able to work a lot of specialized units and we did not have to drive the standard police car with the cage separating the front seats from the back seats.  ( yes unlike on TV, there is a cage the keeps people from attacking you from the back.)

This allowed us to seek refuge in the back of the car.  I know this is a bit of a rant, but right now I  am sitting in my car writing this post from my computer while using my Verizon hotspot to upload content.

I am going to let you in on a little secret. If you are ever waiting or stuck in your car and have to work from your car, the back seat is the absolute best place.  What you do is push the front seat all the way up as far as it will go. Then you jump in the back seat and you have tons of leg room and no steering wheel.  I know, kinda silly, but that is where i am sitting right now and it is quite comfortable.

Now that the kids are back in school, at least for some of the Santa Clarita school districts, we are already picking up in business.  This happens every year and I always talk about it on our videos and blogs.  Unless you are in the business, you probably never heard of it.  In fact, even those in the divorce business re unaware because they simply don’t do the volume of divorce cases that we do.

Until tomorrow.

Santa Clarita Divorce : How NOT To Save $435 On Your Divorce

I called this video, “How NOT to save $435 on your divorce”. The reason i did this is because for all of the people out there who are trying to complete your own divorce, at the end of the day you are going to make mistakes which will cost you money. One of those mistakes is that when you have an amicable divorce you still waste the money by filing a Response which is not necessary if your case is amicable. I explain more in the video and podcast below.

Santa Clarita Divorce : Which Court Do You File For Divorce In Los Angeles County?

When you are going to get a divorce and live in Santa Clarita or anywhere else in Los Angeles county, you need to figure out what divorce court you can file in. There is a lot of confusion on this topic and people seem to think that they can file anywhere they want, including a divorce court where they live. Where you file your divorce case is based on residence. Watch this video and podcast where i explain the rules.

Santa Clarita Divorce : Understanding What Our Divorce Service Does

People still think that the only way to get a divorce is through hiring an attorney. I had someone on facebook questioning our business and stating by providing this divorce service we were giving legal advice. Couldn’t be further from the truth. We are registered and bonded to provide divorce services directly to the public without the need for attorney supervision. I explain more in the video and podcast below.

More Podcasts, Videos And Blog Posts To Come For 2016

So today is January 6, 2016 and you know what is remarkable is I did not get sick all of last year and in fact I haven’t been sick for a couple of years. But yesterday just five days into 2016 I caught a cold I don’t know what to make of this.

But I’m still plugging along, when you own your own business you can’t just not show up for work.

This year I’ve made a commitment to do a lot more marketing especially in the way of video marketing and so far this year I’ve produced on a minimum at least five videos per day which I’ve then turned into a podcast episode followed by uploading to YouTube and Facebook and any other social media platform that I’m a part of.

We’ve always done well with our our marketing but this year I think will do much better as I increase the number of videos that we make.

I know this is true especially sense yesterday I uploaded a video at about 7 AM to YouTube and by 9 AM I received a call from a potential client who watched the video and became a client because of that very video. It’s things like these that convince me to spend the extra hours every day to get this marketing up so people can learn from it, find us, and hopefully ultimately utilize her service to help them with their divorce.

So if you follow our blog podcast or YouTube channel you’re going to see tons of content being posted and uploaded every day.

Have a good day, enjoy the rain California, and we’ll talk later.
