Like Our Santa Clarita Divorce Service On Facebook

We have been working on our Facebook pages lately and have begun a marketing campaign using Facebook pay per click.  We have done Facebook marketing in the past, but it has been difficult to determine if there is any benefit in doing so.

We do a lot of online marketing with our blogs and pay per click on Google, but those people are conducting a search for us purposely. The Facebook ads are more like a commercial in that they just appear whether your are looking for us or not.  So I would imagine that it is more of a branding and letting people know we are here and may result in future business, but no direct correlation between them clicking our ad which results in business.

This is much different than our pay per click ads on Google search, as those people are specific looking for our service.  The costs of our Google adwords each month can be directly tied to the amount of business we get in a given month.

So we are trying to raise our marketing efforts on Facebook to have a greater presence and hope that people find us and, of course, later use our divorce service in Santa Clarita.

Using Our Remote Divorce Service | California Divorce

I received an email over the weekend asking if we can provide our divorce service remotely.  This person live out of Country, but had lived in California and wanted to see if we could help him with his divorce.

We have spoke about this in the past quite a bit, but thought I would discuss it again.  We are able to help you with your divorce anywhere in California, whether you are in California or not.

We have helped lots of folks finish their divorce who are out of state or out of Country.  We have helped military personnel serving in the Armed Forces who are deployed overseas to complete their divorce.   Most recently was a gentleman in the Army, serving in Germany and his divorce was completed in Sacramento.  All this while our divorce service is headquartered in Los Angeles.

We have helped clients who were living in Saudi Arabia as well as Africa.  Some places were so remote, that they did not have email and we had to mail them their divorce document to the consulate.

I came into the office this morning and as usual already had messages from new potential clients who wanted to get started in their divorce.  Most people give a little explanation regarding what is going on.

The message I received today was from a gentleman who said he had started his divorce but now felt he needed a little “backup”.  I know exactly what he is talking about when he says he needs backup.

Here is what generally happens.  Folks are told that they can complete their own divorce, which is true.  But what they are not told is that it is a long, complicated and painful process if you are undertaking it on your own.

So folks will start their divorce and begin to prepare the legal documents.  At some point, they realize that they need help and begin to get frustrated with the process.  What started off with as just filing out a few forms can quickly turn ugly.

I get these types of calls from people at different points in the paperwork.  Some call immediately after picking up the paperwork and take one look at it and give us a call.  Others will attempt to fill out the initial filing forms and file them with the court.  And still others will try to complete the whole thing and even submit the judgment.

There is one common situation among all these folks.  That is how much of their own time they are going to waste before they decide to call me.  In most cases the more work the person does, the more issues we have to fix and re-file and amend forms.

Our recommendation is to call us before you ever get started on your divorce.  Of course, that wont always be the case but you can call us at any point in your divorce.  Regardless where you are at in your divorce we can pick up where you left off, complete a review of everything you have done and get it finished up for you.

Get The Facts About Divorce In Santa Clarita

We are known in Santa Clarita for providing the facts about divorce.  Pretty much that is all we talk about, day in and day out.

The interesting thing is that we have met with clients who have already consulted with a divorce attorney and they always tell us that they learned more about divorce and the divorce process than they did during a consultation with a lawyer.

I just had a client in the other day who had a ton of questions about divorce.  At one point in the conversation, he breathed a noticeable sigh of relief.

How To Get Affordable Access To Divorce Services In Santa Clarita

I have spoke about the issues surrounding the high costs of obtaining legal services for divorce.  The costs are outrageous and folks going through divorce are no longer willing to pay these high costs.  Why?  Well, for one, they don’t see the value in what attorneys are offering.

Divorce attorneys are starting to feel the heat as more and more attorneys enter the marketplace and more and more potential clients opt for other solutions to assist them with their divorce.

Take our divorce services for example.  What started as a simple divorce document preparation firm now resulted in our handling even the most complex divorce cases that go to trial.  Of course, our clients are representing themselves, but they are saving countless thousands in legal fees.

The benefit is that they have professionally prepared divorce documents and access to our legal document assistants that have worked in the courts, for large law firms and in the self help centers who can provide information on court procedure and how to get through their divorce.

Demand for our divorce service in Santa Clarita is very high right now and I believe that divorce attorneys are losing business to us.  Of course, there will always be a need for legal advice and representation in court, but outside of that, we are able to take a divorce case from start to finish.

Requesting Post Divorce Judgment Financial Information | Santa Clarita Divorce

Did you know there was a way to obtain post judgment financial information on your spouse without having to go to court?  I didn’t until recently and neither do  a lot of attorneys.

This article will discuss how to request  your spouses financial information when there has already been a judgment in your case.  Why would you need to do this, you ask?  Well, if you have an order for spousal support or child support, there may be a time when you want to request a modification of the amount of money you are paying.

Generally, there needs to be a change of circumstances to request a hearing to modify either child support or spousal support.  A change in your spouses income would qualify for this.  But how do you know if your spouse is making more money?  That is where this tool is easy and does not require you to file your motion first or any formal discovery.

Here is what the family code section says on this.

“At any time following a judgment of marital (or domestic partnership) dissolution or legal separation, or a determination of paternity that provides for payment of support, either the payer or payee may serve a request on the other party for the production of a completed current income and expense declaration form, without leave of court. Fam C §3664(a). This statutory right to obtain financial information from the other party provides for the inexpensive discovery of facts before a party seeks the modification or termination of an order for child, family, or spousal support. See Fam C §§3660–3668. There is no requirement that an order to show cause or motion for modification of support be pending. Fam C §3662. This discovery technique may not be used more than once every 12 months. Fam C §3663.”

For those of us that don’t ready legalese, here is what it says in plain English.  After a judgment in your divorce you can request your spouses income information without going to court no more than once per year. (Couldn’t they have just said that?)

So, if that is the case, how do you go about doing this?  As the requesting party you should serve a Request For Production of an Income and Expense Declaration After Judgment Form (FL-396).

The party served has 35 days to complete the income and expense report and return it along with the prior years federal and state tax return and 2 months of pay stubs.

If the responding party fails to return them or is incomplete regarding any wage information, you can then serve a request for income and benefit information directly on their employer using the Request for income and benefit information from employer (Form FL-397)

Divorce Service The Buzz Of Santa Clarita

Lately I have heard from several different sources that our divorce services are being talked about by many people in our Santa Clarita community.  And yes, the talk is all good.

This past week I was at BJ’s Brewery in Santa Clarita and sitting at the bar.  I struck up a conversation with 2 younger guys sitting next to me.  Long story short, they both worked for web developers here in Santa Clarita.  One worked for Scorpion Designs and the other for NextClient.  These companies provide a variety of web services for attorneys.

After mentioning who I was and what I did, they stated that they had recently been contacted by someone that does family law and told them that I was their competition.  I was quite fascinated to learn that another person in the legal industry had noticed my site and to the point that they told their web developers that I was their competition and that they wanted to have a website like mine.

It felt good to be acknowledged for the hard work that goes into writing my blogs and providing the divorce information in Santa Clarita.

The second time I heard folks talking about me was from one of my clients.  They said they were at a Santa Clarita hair salon having their hair done and in the chair next to her, she could hear them talking about my company and mentioning me by name.  The said the were explaining what a good, valuable service we provide.

Filed For Divorce But May Want To Reconcile | Santa Clarita Divorce

I had a newer client call me today and ask if it was possible to slow down the divorce process because they were thinking they might be able to reconcile.

We had filed their divorce earlier in the month and had mailed out the divorce documents to his wife.  We were doing a simplified service where the spouse only need sign saying she received the documents.  Their question was whether they should sign the notice of acknowledgment of receipt or just hold off on everything.

Here are your options if you fall into this situation.  First, you can simply not sign anything.  Just hold off on having your spouse served and wait to see if things work out.  This is what the 6 months cooling off period is for.  The only issue you may run into is this.  If you don’t serve your spouse within 60 to 90 days, the court will set a case management conference to have you appear in court and explain the situation of what is going on.

So this first option is good idea if your spouse knew you filed for divorce.  Why do I say this?  Because if you filed for divorce and your spouse has no idea and then received a notice in the mail from the court addressed from you and opens it, they will see that you filed for divorce.  This will not be a good day for you if this happens.

The next option is to use the notice of acknowledgement of receipt of divorce form and have them sign it.  They can sign in and then just don’t file it.  Hold onto it until you are sure you are going through with the divorce.  This will not slow anything down if you later decide to move forward.  The date your spouse was served will be the day they signed it, even if you file it months later.

One more option would simply be to complete the process of service of your divorce.  Then you don’t have to worry about the court setting any court dates.  But serving your spouse can be kind of official and if you are trying to reconcile, you may want to avoid serving your spouse as that almost always sets a negative tone.
